Ebonized Walnut & Pony Leather

Crafted from ebonized walnut and black cowhide, the Ikal Stool explores movement as a visual language shared across cultures and time. Its looping legs draw together European meander patterns and the geometric fretwork of Mesoamerican architecture, where continuous lines and spiraling forms suggest rhythm, breath, serpentine motion, and the flow between worlds. The result is a stool balanced between sculpture and companion.

Ikal Stool

The looping structure gives Ikal a sense of continuous movement, transforming a static object into something that appears to unfold through space. European and Mesoamerican references meet without being reduced to a single historical vocabulary.

Like much of Atelier Ollin’s work, Ikal approaches furniture as a vessel for memory, ritual, and lived presence. The warmth of walnut and softness of cowhide temper the monumentality of its geometry, giving the stool both sculptural presence and an inviting tactile quality.
