Edition

Limited edition of 20 + 2 AP

Materials

Stainless Steel &
Volcanic Stone

The Umbral Altar reimagines the standing stone as a piece of contemporary furniture. Inspired by Pre-Columbian pyramids and European menhirs - monuments that marked thresholds, gathering, and passage - it combines volcanic rock with precise stainless steel joinery. Sculptural yet adaptable, the console can transform into stools and a table base, holding both the permanence of stone and the possibility of movement.

Umbral Altar

Five stacked volcanic rock elements are held together without glue through precisely engineered stainless steel joinery. The construction makes the structure both visually quiet and mechanically expressive, allowing the materials to remain legible.

A customizable top piece allows Umbral to shift between an entry console, display surface, or compact bar. Its modularity gives the monumental form an unexpected everyday flexibility, allowing the piece to change with its surroundings and use.
